Our Treasury Secretary tells us the economy is set to strengthen. All the while employers are cutting payrolls in a startling trend. Not to mention fears of inflation, high prices, and a global economic downturn continue to mount. Surely Paulson is not stupid but sometimes you wonder about intentions.
