As if we needed another reason to shun the interrogation abuses going on by our government…
The Judge ruling over The United States first ever war crimes trial since World War II has barred information obtained under “highly coercive conditions”. Those conditions include being tied up, blind folded, pushed around, hit in the back by integrators knees and isolated. How about we just call it what it is; torture.
What has the government gained by using torture? Absolutely nothing.
The government’s own interogation techniques has made less information available to the Justice System to make a well informed decision. Plus, events like this put our own intelligence in a predicament that undermines it’s own credibility and ableness to do it’s job. Instead of focusing on real evidence it is forced to often deal with bunk evidence obtained through less attractive methods that often get us nowhere in finding the bad guys.
